What do I need in order start using BeLive?
You just need a web camera, Facebook account, a Chrome browser, and a stable internet connection.
Which broadcast modes are offered at BeLive?
We offer three broadcast modes:
  • Solo - one person only. You have the option to show comments & on-screen updates. Features available: agenda, call to action, scheduling and branding. Here is a tutorial on how to correctly set up a solo broadcast

  • Interview - you can go live with a guest. Also, you have the option to show comments & on-screen updates as well as agenda, call to action, scheduling and branding features. Here is a tutorial on how to correctly set up your interview broadcast

  • Talk Show - you can have four people in the broadcast and up to 10 in the lobby. Also, you can show comments & on-screen updates as well as features like agenda, call to action, muting guests, scheduling, branding, screen share and gallery. What internet browsers can work with BeLive?
BeLive only works with the latest version of Google Chrome. You can check your Chrome here.
Can I broadcast to my page, group, or event with BeLive?
Yes! You can broadcast on your timeline, page, group, or an event. To broadcast on a page, make sure you either have an "Admin" or "Editor" role. For a Group or Event, you need to have "Admin" role.
Can I connect BeLive to my business account?
All the BeLive accounts are connected to personal Facebook profiles but you can broadcast to any page, group or event that you manage. You will select the destination of a broadcast when you create one.
Can I have several Facebook users on one BeLive account?
Since BeLive account is connected to one personal Facebook profile the only way to access it is to login via this Facebook profile. Each Belive user will need an account, connected to their facebook profile
Can I broadcast to several pages simultaneously?
Currently it is not possible to broadcast to several pages simultaneously. To go live to two different pages/groups, you can share the Facebook post of your broadcast.
Can I do a test broadcast before going live?
Yes. After creating your broadcast, choose “Testing Only - Do not post.” Your broadcast will neither be posted anywhere nor recorded. Also, you can set up your privacy settings on Facebook to “only me”, so the broadcast will be posted, but only you will see it.
What is the time limit for a broadcast?
For both the free trial & paid subscriptions, the time limit is 4 hours per broadcast. For the free plan, the time limit is 20 min per broadcast.
Do “Testing Only” broadcasts count in the total amount of my broadcasts for Free or Lite plan?
No, only the broadcasts that went live and were posted are counted.
Is there a checklist that I can use before going live?
Here are a few things you can do before the broadcast for best results:
  1. Make sure you have the latest version of Chrome.
  2. Close all software or apps that use a camera.
  3. Close unnecessary tabs and apps.
  4. Clear your cache.
  5. Earbuds/headphones are recommended for both host and guests to avoid echo and feedback.
  6. Direct Internet connection is usually stronger than a Wi-Fi, but no worries Wi-Fi also works.
  7. Don’t download or stream other videos during the broadcast.

How can I add a guest to the broadcast?
  1. Create an Interview or Talk Show broadcast.
  2. In broadcast studio copy the link on the left side of the page (for Interview mode) or the left bottom side of the page click button “Copy link” (for Talk Show mode).
  3. Now the link is in your clipboard and you can paste it anywhere you want: to the message in Messenger, Facebook wall, email etc. to share with your guests.

Do guests need to have BeLive account as well?
No, to join a broadcast guest will need to login via Facebook and (in case a guest is joining via mobile device) to have the BeLive app installed.

My guest’s camera does not connect. What should they do?
Please, make sure your guest has the latest version of Chrome. Ask them to clear their cache and check their camera and audio here https://test.webrtc.org/, reboot their computer, and try again.

How many guests can join a Talk Show?
Up to four people (the host plus three guests) can be on the screen, and up to 10 people can join and wait in the Lobby. Beware, if you are using screen share or gallery features, it takes away one place on the broadcast.
Can guests share their screen?
Only hosts can share their screen.
Can guests see comments?
Yes, guests can see comments and reactions on their side.
Can I have more than one guest on Interview mode?
You cannot have more than one guest simultaneously, but guests can swap out to another guest.
Will my broadcast also appear on my guest’s feed?
No, it will not appear on the feed of your guest.
Can I tag my guests?
Yes, you can tag your guests directly in the comments to the Facebook post with a broadcast or the description of the Facebook post.
Will my guests see comments?
Yes. Your guests will see both flashing comments and the ones that you put on the screen.
Do you have any checklist that I can send my guest?
Yes, here it is!
  1. To join a broadcast as a guest you have to have a Facebook profile.
  2. Please, use updated Google Chrome or (if you are connecting via mobile device) download and install the BeLive app (Android https://goo.gl/gzUrwM; iOS https://goo.gl/p1LCfS)
  3. Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
  4. You may want to clear cache and close all unnecessary tabs and programs on your device. Some programs may run in the background even when they seem to be closed, so consider using Task Manager or rebooting your device.
  5. Follow the link you received from the host to join the broadcast (click "Join broadcast" for mobile devices or “connect camera” for PC/laptop).
    Note, that on PC/laptop you can test your camera and mic before you click “connect camera”. Click the gear button to open the settings window.
  6. Enjoy the broadcast!
How do I schedule a broadcast?
  1. On belive.tv click “Start Broadcasting” and choose a broadcasting mode.
  2. Check “Create a scheduled Facebook Live broadcast”.
  3. Choose preferred date and time (make sure there is an 11-minute window between the creation of broadcast to start of broadcast). Note that the time is in 24-hour format and also that you can’t schedule a broadcast more than a week ahead.
  4. Fill out all the other details of the broadcast.
  5. Click “Create Broadcast.”

A post about the broadcast will be generated on your timeline/page/group/event. Viewers can click on “Get Reminder.” The time of the show will be automatically converted to the viewer’s time zone.

Keep in mind that if you don’t start the scheduled broadcast within 10 minutes, Facebook deletes it.

Can I edit my scheduled broadcast?
Once a broadcast is scheduled, you can edit only the text of the post. To change any other details, you would have to schedule a new broadcast.
I scheduled a broadcast, but my guests and viewers see the wrong time. Why?

Facebook controls the timezone setting on BeLive. Facebook takes time from the timezone setting on your computer, so your broadcast will always be scheduled in the timezone that is set on the device you use. Beware, that “time zone settings” are different from “time settings”.

At the same time, each Facebook user will see the time of the post with scheduled broadcast according to their timezone, that’s why the time showed can be different, but it is still the same time.

If you are experiencing problems with the timezone on Facebook, the best solution is to go into the “Date and Time” settings on your computer, click “Change Timezone” button, and select the proper timezone for your area.

Do you have a remote operator option?
Yes, we do! In Talk Show mode you can manage a broadcast as a remote operator. To do so connect as a host and send your anchor a guest link. After your guest connects to a broadcast, pull him from the lobby to the show and remain in the lobby. You will be able to manage a broadcast as a remote operator that is not visible to the audience.
How do I add my custom logo?
  1. Click “Add Your Branding” when you set up a broadcast.
  2. Upload a 150x150 transparent PNG image for your logo by clicking the + sign. Choose the correct file from your computer.
  3. A preview will appear to show how it will look on the broadcast. If you are not satisfied with a logo you can remove it by pressing X.
  4. Once a logo is set, click on “Save Branding.” All the used logos will be saved for the future broadcasts.

How do I choose the custom colours?
  1. Click “Add Your Branding” when you set up a broadcast.
  2. Click on “Brand Colours” tab right next to “Logo.”
  3. Choose the Background and Text colours by entering a specific HTML code or by clicking on the colour wheel.
  4. A Preview will appear to show you how the lower third will look on the broadcast.
  5. Once the custom colours are set, click on “Save Branding.” All the used colours combinations will be saved for the future broadcasts. You can remove it by pressing x.

How do I upload a custom frame?
  1. Click “Add Your Branding” when you set up a broadcast.
  2. Click on “Designed Frames” tab right next to “Brand Colours.”
  3. Choose preloaded frames or upload your own.
  4. To upload your own, click on the “+” sign to choose a 1280x720 transparent PNG file from your computer. Note, if you don’t see a video preview under your frame, your broadcast will be hidden by a frame.
  5. To put frame off, click on the frame again.
  6. Once the upload is complete, click “Save Branding.” All the used frames will be saved for the future broadcasts. You can remove it by pressing x.

How do I show comments on the broadcast screen?
  1. You will see all the live comments under the “Live Broadcast Preview.”
  2. Click “Show” on the comment you want to show on the screen.
  3. If you want to show another comment, click on “Show” and the previous comment will automatically be replaced with the new comment.
  4. Click on “Hide” if you want to hide the current comment on the screen to disappear.
What is the Agenda feature?
The Agenda feature serves as your talking points during the broadcast. Only the Title will be flashed on the screen. The Description is where to write your prompts or notes and will not be displayed on a screen.
How to Use the Agenda feature?
  1. Click the Agenda button in the BeLive studio (under Live broadcast preview).
  2. Click the Plus button in the bottom right corner and choose “Agenda”.
  3. Add title and description of each agenda item.
  4. Click “Show” button to show it live on the screen (“Hide” button when you want to hide it from the screen) or click on a trash bin on the left of “show” button to delete an item.
  5. You can save your agenda for future broadcasts.

How to use Call To Action feature?
  1. Click the Agenda button in the BeLive studio (under Live broadcast preview).
  2. Click the Plus button in the bottom right corner and choose “Call to action”.
  3. Type text that you want to share and click “Add call to action”.
  4. Click “Show” button to show it live on the screen ( “Hide” button when you want to hide it from the screen) or click on a trash bin on the left of “show” button to delete an item.

    Beware, that you can’t use a call to action and show on screen agenda/comments/names simultaneously.

How do I upload photos to my broadcast?
  1. Create a Talk Show broadcast.
  2. On the lower third of the production studio, click on “Add a photo from your Facebook albums.”
  3. Sign in to Facebook to access your albums.
  4. Choose the photo you want to show from your album.
  5. Click on “Add to Broadcast” to show the photo on the broadcast.

Please, beware, that you only can upload pictures in an album of your personal profile, but you will be able to show the pictures no matter where you broadcast to, group, page or event.

How do I share my screen?
  1. Please, make sure you have a Standard plan and create a Talk Show mode broadcast.
  2. In the Lobby, you will see a box with the label “Share your desktop screen”.
  3. Click on “Share.”
  4. If you haven’t installed the BeLive Chrome extension yet, it will ask you to add it.
  5. Once installed, a popup will appear. Choose “Your Entire Screen”, “Application Window.” or ”Google Chrome Tab”. To use sharing of aan application window, please, make sure your Google Chrome window is not opened full-screen.
  6. Click on “Add to Broadcast” to show your screen on the broadcast.

Do I need a wired connection?
Not necessarily. BeLive works with a wired or wireless connection. Our systems use at most 2 MBPS, depending on selected broadcasting quality (higher quality uses more bandwidth, then lower one), but it's good to have about double the bandwidth to prevent other software using the same network that may cause interruptions.
How do I choose an external mic or camera?
On the Production Studio, click on the gear icon near the “Connect camera” button. Choose from the drop-down which external mic or camera you want to use for the broadcast.

Can I broadcast with a DSLR?
BeLive supports cameras that can connect to Chrome as a webcam. As long as you can connect the DSLR camera as a webcam device, then it will be available for BeLive.
Can I make videos in 1080p?
Sadly, no. The highest resolution on BeLive is 720p.
Why is the quality of my broadcast poor?
The highest resolution on BeLive is set to 720p. The resolution of the video will depend mainly on your internet upload speed. It is recommended to test different resolutions (HD 720p, qHD540, or SD 480p) to find the optimal setting.
Can I host a show on my phone or tablet?
You are required to host a broadcast on computer or laptop, but your guests can join via the Android or iOS app as well as computer/laptop.
Why don’t I see screen share on my account?
Screen share is available only on Standard plan and under the Talk Show format.
Why don’t I have sound in a screenshare?

At the moment screen sharing does not include sharing sound. Some of our users invented the following workaround. You can add yourself and screen share to the stream, and you will be able to use your microphone to talk or to transmit sound if you play it loudly through the speakers. If you don’t want people to see you, you can just press SOLO under the screen share window.

Beware, that in this case we can't guarantee that the quality of your sound will be satisfying or that it will work smoothly.

Can I put a pre-recorded video in broadcast?
We do not support direct sharing of videos yet, but you can do it using screen share feature (available in a Talk Show mode within Standard plan), but note that only visual image of pre-recorded video will be transmitted, without sound.
Can I change the cover image after I already scheduled the broadcast?
Unfortunately, no. Elements such as the cover image, frame, and colours cannot be changed after a broadcast has been scheduled.
Can I change the time of the broadcast after I scheduled it?
To avoid confusion, you cannot change a time after it’s already been scheduled. Time is set according to time zone of your computer and is automatically converted into viewer’s time zone on Facebook.
Can I download my broadcast?
Yes, you can download it from Facebook. Please, on Facebook go to your video, play it, press "Enlarge" and then in the right top corner you can find three-dots button. Press in and in the fall-down menu you'll see the option to download your video, as here in the screenshot:32zuseu
Why can no one see my broadcast?
Perhaps, your privacy settings set to “private”. To change it:
  1. Go to your Facebook profile.
  2. Click on the bottom arrow in the top right corner.
  3. Click on Settings.
  4. Click on Apps on the left-hand side.
  5. Click on the BeLive app.
  6. Look for "App Visibility and Post Audience."
  7. Choose your preferred audience on the right side.
  8. Click “Save.”

Why do I have an audio delay/poor quality of a broadcast?
Such issues may be caused by internet speed and machine load. We recommend making sure you do not download any software and do not have too many tabs open, as well as to shut down all the unnecessary software that can load operational memory of the computer. If this doesn’t solve the issue, please, contact our Support via team@belive.tv or Messenger.
How can I avoid audio and video issues?
For best results, we recommend doing the following before your broadcast:
  • Update Chrome to the latest version.
  • Clear cache.
  • Wear a headset during the broadcast to avoid echo.
  • If you have a guest, please, advise him to do the same as above.
Why is there an echo on my broadcast?
Echo is caused when one person's voice is heard through another person's microphone. It is recommended for the host and guests to wear a headset, to avoid the sound from reaching the microphone. A good rule to remember: If you hear the echo, then it's NOT coming from your system. The person causing the echo DOES NOT hear the echo.
Why my camera/microphone is not connecting to BeLive studio?
Please, make sure you have the latest version of Chrome. After that clear your cache, check your camera and audio here https://test.webrtc.org/, reboot your computer, and try again. If this doesn’t solve the issue, please, contact our Support via team@belive.tv or Messenger.
I was in the middle of the broadcast, and the screen froze. How to overcome it?
Please, refresh the page, it will not cause you losing the broadcast. If this doesn’t solve the issue, please, contact our Support via team@belive.tv or Messenger.
I manage several pages, but I don’t see some of them on the list on BeLive. How do I access it?
Firstly, please, make sure you manage these pages as an admin from the same personal page that is connected to BeLive otherwise it’s not possible for BeLive to access this pages/groups/events. Then, go to Settings-Apps on your Facebook personal profile and remove BeLive from the list of apps. Now go to belive.tv and create a broadcast to grant permissions again. If this doesn’t solve the issue, please, contact our Support via team@belive.tv or Messenger.
Why my scheduled broadcast was deleted?
If you don’t start the scheduled broadcast within 10 minutes, Facebook automatically deletes it.
I deleted my broadcast by mistake. Can you retrieve it?
Sometimes it’s possible to do, please contact our Support with retrieve request via email team@belive.tv or via Messenger, and we will check on it for you.
What should I do when I get “internal issue” pop up?

How can I change the email that is associated with my BeLive account?
It is technically not possible to change your email in the system. However, we can suggest a couple of solutions:
  1. To stop receiving emails to the current account, you can "unsubscribe" by clicking that on any email we are sending.
  2. When creating a broadcast, you have a dedicated email field where you can insert any email for getting emails with details of the broadcast.
  3. You can use the messenger option for getting all links directly without emails at all.

Do I need to choose one of the plans to start the trial?
Yes. To start the free trial, you have to choose either Lite or Standard.
How many days can I try BeLive for free?
After choosing a plan, you have 14 days to try BeLive for free.
What happens when my trial ends?
After the trial ends, you will be automatically downgraded to a free plan with limited features and won’t be charged. Also, you can choose to subscribe a monthly or yearly for paid plans.
Can I cancel my free trial?
There’s no need to cancel your free trial. After it ends, you will be switched to the free version with no money charged.
Can I have a free account forever?
If none of the current plans suits your needs and you want to continue using BeLive, you can choose the free option. You’ll be able to do a broadcast twice a week with a limit of 20 minutes each. Customization and other features such as screenshare won’t be available with the free BeLive account.
What is included in a free plan?
You’ll be able to do a Solo or Interview broadcast twice a week with a limit of 20 minutes each. Customization and other features such as screenshare won’t be available with the free BeLive account.
Can I pay using my credit card?
Yes, but only for a yearly subscription. Currently, for monthly payments, BeLive only accepts payments via Paypal.
Can I pay using my debit card?
Yes, but only for a yearly subscription. Currently, for monthly payments BeLive only accepts payments via Paypal and PayPal does not allow to use debit card for recurring payments.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, you can decide to cancel your account at any time. Once you cancel, you’ll no longer be charged for the next month. For more questions about cancellation, you can email Support at team@belive.tv or chat via Messenger.
How can I upgrade/downgrade my plan?
To upgrade or downgrade your plan, please, send in your request to team@belive.tv or chat with our Support on Messenger.
Can I switch from annual to monthly subscription?

How much does Enterprise plan cost?
